POTTAILS was founded by Raleigh, NC hemp entrepreneur Eric Stahl, alongside his wife, Corey Stahl. The couple owns both Modern Apotheca, a hemp dispensary, and The Burnt Pot Cafe, North Carolina's first "hemp infusion cafe." Their journey into the hemp industry was deeply personal—Corey's battle with Crohn's disease inspired them to invest their life savings into opening a hemp store in Raleigh in 2019, driven by a desire to explore natural wellness alternatives.

In March 2022, they launched The Burnt Pot Cafe, where the concept of "POTTAILS" was born. During a St. Patrick's Day celebration that year, they introduced custom hemp-infused beverages, which quickly became a hit with their customers. Recognizing a gap in the market for products that allowed people to "infuse what they choose," Eric and Corey developed Sugar Canne, an infused simple syrup. This product line expanded to include a sugar-free version in early 2023, leading to the re-branding of the entire line as "POTTAILS: Hemp Infused Spirits & Syrups."

The local popularity of POTTAILS prompted the couple to begin wholesaling the products in the spring of 2023. To further scale their business, Eric partnered with his best friend and business associate, Josh Crowder, and in April 2024, they launched Rip Tubes LLC to oversee wholesale and distribution. Their strategy focuses on collaborating with large-scale beverage distributors to introduce PotTails as a product for both off-premises consumers and on-premises establishments like bars, restaurants, and lounges.

To spearhead national sales, Eric and Josh brought on board their close friend Stewart Moseley, a seasoned sales professional with 25 years of executive sales experience in the fitness, gym and wellness industries. Stewart's expertise and leadership are crucial as POTTAILS continues to grow and expand its reach across the country.
